9th June 2003 Windsurfing: Sunsail - Turkey Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: f5/6 gusts to 7 Surf / Sea State: Flat/Wind Chop Air Temperature: 31c Sea Temperature: 23c Weather: Hot Max Speed: Distance Covered: After a lazy morning watching the wind build I had another great afternoon, it keeps getting windier, took out the carve 99 and a 5.5m Tushingham Storm rig and still ended up overpowered in the gusts, got some good duck gybes, and I was coming out planning from most of them, defintaly easier to carry more speed through a duck gybe and then switch the feet later, I did miss time one in spectacular fashion, caught the mast on the water and stopped the board dead while going flat out, I didn't stop and cleared the front of the board by about 3 yards before hitting the water pretty hard. With more wind there was also more chop about today so got some nice little jumps, had a few problems with the lulls in the wind late on but it was another excellent afternoon windsurf. |
